Setting Off

 Thursday April 2

Adrian helped Pam pack the car with most of the major items yesterday evening. We only had personal items such as laptops and washbags etc to stow away this morning. Pam was left the task of doing that. She also did all the driving. Wonder woman.

A lvely day from inside the car. a largely clear blue sky and warm sun belied the cold north easterly wind obvious when one ventured outside. There was a twenty five minute tailback on one section of the A1 where there were massive roadworks surrounding a new bridge. Despite this and two half hour stops for a leg stretch and a drink, we were in our Berwick on Tweed room by six o'clck after a 9.30 start and 336 miles on one tank of petrol. Good for our car. Pam used Econ a lot for motorway cruising.

Something which delighted us today was the number of verges which had been seeded with Primroses and Cowslips
