Thursday May 1
We did not start out early - as used to be our habit. Adrian helped carry out the heavy luggage and packed the car last night, it's just too much for Pam on her own. I pack my own luggage but the carrying has to be done by others. I load my Rollator with my personal bags, laptop, medication etc. Pam also uses it to carry the other bits and pieces which accrue when packing up the house and then self catering.
The journey was mainly taken in bright, warm sunshine, until we reached Newcastle, when there was complete cloud cover - we even had a short hail shower, The journey through Norfolk had been slow, the Fakenham roadworks a big pain as usual. The works around Newcastle were horrendous, it seemed to take forever, we didn't get to the Travelodge at Berwick on Tweed until 6.20. Supper is courtesy of Marks and Spencer and Greggs.
We travel to Kinross tomorrow, birding our way round the Edinburgh coast.
